After 20+ years as a practicing social worker, primarily in the field of addictions, I have assisted many to gain insight into their lives and beliefs, allowing them to make changes for a more meaningful life. While much of my practice was in the field of addictions, it allowed me to gain experience with clients working on a variety of other concerns such as: relationship issues, abuse/trauma, depression, anxiety and grief, to name a few. I am passionate about my work and believe in my clients ability to heal and grow. I strongly believe with willingness, compassion and support many great changes can occur.
Are you concerned about others and their well-being? Who is concerned about your well-being? Taking care of yourself is the first step to helping others, let me help you on the way to self-care.
In the 12 years that I have been in practice, I work with adults and adolescents that have concerns with depression, anxiety, grief and other mental health issues. In working with individuals, I assist you by focusing on your needs and listening to your concerns.
I am passionate about the work I do with individuals and work with them to help them grow and improve their lives. I am compassionate and believe that change, growth and healing can occur even when the journey is difficult.
I have provided therapeutic services to adults ages twenty-years old and older from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. I believe in addressing the needs of the whole person in social, emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual areas. Therefore, I meet you where you are, listen to your story, assist you in setting your goals, and collaborate in developing a treatment plan towards meeting those goals. The healing process begins from there. You are not alone in your journey towards healing.
The use of journals, relaxation techniques, self-exploration through various self-reports and narratives, how to argue with love, emotional regulation and behavioral modification are some of the tools, techniques, and psychoeducation offered during sessions. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and other evidence-based practices.
